Talent Pool & Career Snapshot

How we match you to opportunities

The Talent Pool is how employers find candidates like you. Your Career Snapshot is what they see — a quick summary of your skills and experience that helps them decide if you're a good fit. Here's how it all works.

What is the Talent Pool?

The Talent Pool is a database of local job seekers who want to be found by employers. Instead of applying to individual jobs, you upload your resume once and get matched to opportunities that fit your skills.

Why it works

  • Employers search for candidates instead of waiting for applications
  • You get invited to apply for jobs that match your skills
  • Your resume keeps working even when you're not actively searching

What is a Career Snapshot?

When you join the Talent Pool, our AI reads your resume and creates a "Career Snapshot" — a quick summary of who you are professionally. This is what employers see when they're searching for candidates.

Example Career Snapshot

Best-Fit Titles

Office AdministratorExecutive AssistantOperations Coordinator

Key Skills

Microsoft OfficeQuickBooksCalendar ManagementBilingual Spanish

Experience Level

5+ years in administrative roles

The snapshot makes it easy for employers to quickly see if you might be a good fit — without reading your entire resume. If they like what they see, they can invite you to apply for their position.

How It Works

1

You Join the Talent Pool

Upload your resume and answer a few optional questions. Takes about 2 minutes. Our AI instantly creates your Career Snapshot.

2

Employers Search for Candidates

When an employer posts a job, we show them matching candidates from the Talent Pool. They see your Career Snapshot — not your personal info.

3

You Get an Invite

If an employer thinks you could be a good fit, we send you an email inviting you to apply for their specific job. You decide whether to apply.

4

Keep Getting Matched

Your profile stays active in the pool. As new jobs are posted, you may get more invites — without doing anything extra.

Your Privacy is Protected

We take your privacy seriously. Employers don't get to see everything — they only see what they need to decide if you might be a good fit.

Employers CAN see
  • Your Career Snapshot (skills summary)
  • Best-fit job titles
  • Experience level (e.g., "5+ years")
  • General location (city, not address)
  • Key skills and certifications
Employers CANNOT see
  • ×Your name (until you apply)
  • ×Email or phone number
  • ×Home address or street
  • ×Your resume file
  • ×Specific employers you've worked for

Only after you decide to apply does the employer get your full application and contact info.

What is "Match Strength"?

When you apply for a job (or get invited to one), you'll see a "Match Strength" percentage. This is an AI-generated score that estimates how well your skills match the job requirements.

80%+
Strong Match

Your skills align well with the job

60-79%
Good Match

Some skills match, room to grow

Below 60%
Worth Considering

May require a strong cover letter

The score isn't perfect — it's just a guide. A lower score doesn't mean you shouldn't apply. And a high score doesn't guarantee you'll get the job. Use it as one data point.

Talent Pool vs Job Alerts

We offer two ways to stay connected to opportunities. They work differently:

Talent Pool

  • Upload your resume once
  • Employers find and invite you
  • AI matches you to jobs
  • Get personalized invites

Best for: People who want to be discovered without actively searching.

Job Alerts

  • Set your preferences
  • Get email when new jobs match
  • Filter by category, location
  • Just email, no resume upload

Best for: People who want to browse and apply themselves.

You can use both! Join the Talent Pool to get discovered, and set up Job Alerts to actively browse new listings.

Updating Your Career Snapshot

Got a new certification? Learned a new skill? Changed jobs? Keep your snapshot up-to-date to get matched to more relevant opportunities.

What makes a good update?

  • New job experience or title changes
  • New certifications or licenses
  • Skills you've gained (even "basic" ones like Excel)
  • Education, volunteer work, side projects

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Talent Pool free?

Yes, 100% free for job seekers. Employers pay to access the Talent Pool — you never pay anything.

How long does my profile stay active?

Your profile stays in the pool indefinitely until you ask us to remove it. We may reach out periodically to make sure your info is still current.

Can I remove myself from the Talent Pool?

Yes, anytime. Just email admin@209.works and we'll remove your profile and delete your data.

What if I'm currently employed?

That's fine! Your current employer's name is hidden from employers browsing the pool. They only see your skills and job titles, not specific company names.

Do I have to apply when an employer invites me?

No. Invites are just that — invitations. You decide whether the job is right for you. There's no obligation to apply.

Why should I join instead of just applying to jobs?

The Talent Pool works even when you're not actively looking. You upload your resume once, and opportunities come to you. It's like having a passive job search running in the background.

Ready to get discovered?

Join the Talent Pool and let local employers come to you. It takes about 2 minutes.
